Our Admin Team will have sign in sheets for all volunteers, give out name badges and complete a 5-minute orientation for our first time volunteers. This team prepares receipts for money and clothes donations. The Admin team will collect forms for community credit for school requirements and forms for those completing community service to satisfy a court order. The team will collect all permanent names badges and orange courtesy vests after volunteer service is completed. Volunteers will be given additional instructions by the Team Leader.
Volunteers sorts out all donated clothes to ensure we are providing clean and proper seasonal clothing. Clothes donated out of season are bagged to give to a shelter or other non profit organization. Clothes are distributed using a numbering system. We must remove the tags from new clothes that were donated. Clothes not selected by our clients are packed up neatly to come back for the next month. Volunteers will be given additional instructions by the Team Leader.
This team is essentially our security team and provides an environment for the volunteers that is safe. They will demonstrate reconciliation practices when resolving issues with the clients and volunteers. The team member stands post at one of our serving locations to create a positive atmosphere for order. Volunteers will be given additional instructions by the Team Leader.
This team provides the spiritual encouragement and hope to our clients. The team solicit those who are willing to allow them to pray with them and get contact information to make a follow up call later. The team gives out bibles, Christian tracts and other resources. The team can provide helpful information about other organizations that can give help in the way of shelter, job training, and basic needs for someone homeless. Volunteers will be given additional instructions by the Team Leader.
SET UP AND TRANSPORTATION TEAM
This team provides the transportation to and from our serving locations by loading their vehicle and The Widow’s Pantry vehicle with tables, tents, generators, chairs, clothes and food items. This team along with other volunteers are responsible for setting up the Admin, Food, Clothes, and Evangelistic Teams serving areas and breaking them down once service is completed. Volunteers will be given additional instructions by the Team Leader.
Our DJ’s NitaB and Sachmo provides inspirational music that allows the volunteers and clients to work and receive in a calm atmosphere that ministers to our souls. If you have DJ experience and resources let us know if you would like to provide your services to this team.
