History
Did you know homelessness in DC is twice the national average? Due in part to low wages, a higher cost of living and inadequate affordable housing.
The Widow’s Pantry, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, celebrates ten years of service and outreach to neighbors coping with homelessness, unemployment, and underemployment – leading our efforts with love and dignity to restore hope.
Last year, we served 2818 meals to people in need. Our efforts are 100% volunteer driven; while food, clothing, bibles and other resources are the result of individual donations, business sponsorship and community partnerships.
Beginning October 2020, the Widow’s Pantry will visit Farragut Square Park each month to provide:
- bagged meals
- toiletries
- spiritual encouragement to individuals and families
We cannot continue this tremendous work without you!
The Widow’s Pantry hosted it’s 10th Anniversary Gala & Fundraiser at the Camelot by Martin’s in Upper Marlboro, Maryland on Saturday, January 18th. Thank you for your support to honor individuals and businesses that made exceptional contributions to our mission and growth this past decade.
