Annual Training for Volunteers

Each year, the Widow’s Pantry invites current leaders, volunteers, and supporters to participate in online training to demonstrate the power and ability to serve God’s people through Christian outreach.
Our Goal This Year is:
- To share how the Widow’s Pantry is safely serving during COVID-19.
- To help volunteers feel comfortable with getting back to serving under the new normal.
- To provide information to other ministries to assist with returning to serving the masses.

Tea Ceremony Benefit for the Homeless

The Widow’s Pantry is in the planning stages of hosting a fundraiser to heighten our introduction to life skill sessions for our clients. We want to provide items of necessities while engaging our clients to participate in life skills and information resource sessions.
We were scheduled to host an African American Tea Ceremony fundraiser on Saturday May 16, 2020, at the Silver Spring Civic Center. The event is postponed due to COVID-19. This event is rescheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Annual Coat Drive
November 1 – December 23, 2020
Each year since 2013, we collected over 200 new and gently used coats to gift on Christmas Day. With the onset of the novel coronavirus, we are collecting cash donations to purchase new coats for men and women to receive this year.
Give $25 toward the purchase of a new winter coat, and join us on December 25th as we bless neighbors again this year.
Virtual 2-Mile Walk for the Homeless

This was our 6th annual walk, hosted virtually for the first year! We met our goal to raise $4,000!
Proceeds from your generous donation will be used to purchase new winter coats for distribution on Christmas Day.

10th Anniversary Gala & Fundraiser

We were able to raise over $10,000 from the event and 100 percent of the proceeds will be directly donated to our efforts to feed, clothe and provide spiritual encouragement to the homeless, unemployed and underemployed families of Washington DC and the vicinity.
